Conexão que transforma vidas: o eletricista que venceu o medo das nuvens para salvar a própria história

Com 20 anos de jornada na Fundação Pró-Rim, Pedro Guida enfrentou a distância entre o Tocantins e Santa Catarina para realizar um transplante e hoje celebra o ciclo de superação garantido pelo SUS

Acostumado a subir em postes e percorrer fazendas para iluminar o Tocantins, o ajudante de eletricista Pedro Nascimento Guida, hoje com 65 anos, nunca imaginou que sua maior “voltagem” de esperança viria de um voo rumo ao desconhecido. O homem que lidava com a eletricidade nas ruas viu sua própria energia minguar em 2005, quando uma canseira persistente e febres frequentes revelaram que seus rins haviam parado de funcionar.

O choque do diagnóstico
Na época, trabalhando em Palmas, Pedro desconhecia o que era a hemodiálise. O diagnóstico foi um impacto profundo; a rotina de subidas em postes e viagens a trabalho deu lugar às sessões de diálise, iniciadas no Hospital Geral de Palmas (HGP). “Para mim, foi um choque muito grande. Eu sabia que não podia trabalhar mais, que teria que viver em função daquilo”, relembra ele sobre o início do tratamento.

A jornada de Pedro com a Fundação Pró-Rim começou em solo tocantinense, logo após a descoberta da doença. O apoio da instituição foi o alicerce para que ele pudesse processar a nova realidade e vislumbrar um futuro além das máquinas.

Ponte para o Sul: o medo de voar e o desejo de viver
A grande virada aconteceu em 2006, quando surgiu a oportunidade do transplante renal. A esperança ganhou um rosto familiar: seu irmão mais novo decidiu, em um gesto de amor puro, doar o rim. O destino para o procedimento era a matriz da Fundação Pró-Rim em Joinville, Santa Catarina.

Contudo, para alcançar o tratamento, Pedro precisou enfrentar um desafio que, para ele, era mais assustador que a mesa de cirurgia: o avião. “Meu medo maior era o avião, não era o transplante”, confessa entre risos. No dia da viagem, o nervosismo era nítido, mas ao ver a terra ficando pequena pela janela, ele entendeu que aquela conexão entre o Cerrado e o Sul era sua ponte para a vida.

Transplantes no Brasil
A generosidade do irmão de Pedro insere-se em um cenário no qual o Brasil se consolida como o detentor do maior sistema público de transplantes do mundo, com cerca de 90% dos procedimentos financiados pelo Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS).

No caso do doador vivo, como o irmão de Pedro, a Lei nº 9.434/97 e o Decreto nº 9.175/17 determinam que o procedimento é permitido entre cônjuges ou parentes de até 4º grau — pais, filhos, irmãos, avós, tios e primos — desde que haja compatibilidade sanguínea e imunológica. O procedimento é seguro e planejado, permitindo que tanto o doador quanto o receptor mantenham uma vida saudável após a cirurgia, encurtando o tempo de espera e aumentando as chances de sucesso do transplante.

Segundo Leonardo Barberes, vice-diretor da Associação Brasileira de Centros de Diálise e Transplante (ABCDT), histórias como a de Pedro evidenciam a relevância do sistema público. “O transplante renal é uma das terapias que melhor traduzem a eficiência do SUS quando há integração entre equipes, legislação bem estruturada e centros capacitados. É um modelo que salva vidas, reduz custos a longo prazo e devolve dignidade ao paciente”, destaca.

Para doadores sem laço familiar, a legislação brasileira permanece rigorosa, exigindo autorização judicial prévia para garantir que o ato seja solidário, livre e de espontânea vontade, protegendo a integridade de todas as partes envolvidas.

Renascimento em Santa Catarina
Durante os dois meses e quatro dias em que esteve sob os cuidados da unidade catarinense, Pedro se encantou com o acolhimento. “Lá é muito bom, gostei muito dos médicos, uma equipe nota dez”, afirma o eletricista, que mesmo sendo “friorento”, deu sorte de encontrar um clima agradável na região Sul.

O transplante foi um sucesso absoluto. O rim doado pelo irmão funcionou perfeitamente por 15 anos, um período que ele define como de total liberdade e gratidão, provando que a integração tecnológica entre as unidades da federação salva vidas.

O retorno à diálise e a gratidão ao SUS
Há dois anos, com o fim do ciclo natural do órgão transplantado, Pedro retornou à hemodiálise na Pró-Rim de Palmas. Recentemente, ele se mudou de Paraíso do Tocantins para a capital para ficar mais próximo do tratamento e dos filhos. Mesmo de volta à máquina, seu sentimento é de vitória.

“A Pró-Rim para mim é uma coisa muito boa. Se não fosse ela, abaixo de Deus, a vida de quem tem esse problema seria muito curta. Eu não teria condição de pagar esse tratamento no particular”, destaca, reforçando o papel do SUS.

Autor de algumas das novelas mais emblemáticas da televisão brasileira, Manoel Carlos morreu neste sábado (10), aos 92 anos, no Rio de Janeiro. A informação foi confirmada pela família. A causa da morte não foi divulgada.

Conhecido como Maneco, o dramaturgo estava internado no Hospital Copa Star, em Copacabana, onde realizava tratamento contra a Doença de Parkinson, que, no último ano, comprometeu de forma significativa suas funções motoras e cognitivas.

Sua trajetória na TV Globo teve início em 1972, quando assumiu a função de diretor-geral do programa Fantástico. Antes disso, já havia construído uma sólida carreira em diferentes emissoras brasileiras, atuando como autor, produtor e até ator. O início na vida artística aconteceu ainda muito jovem, aos 17 anos, nos palcos do teatro.

Ao longo de décadas, Manoel Carlos consolidou um estilo próprio, marcado por novelas ambientadas no Rio de Janeiro, tratado não apenas como cenário, mas como um personagem central das histórias. Seus textos exploravam, com sensibilidade, os conflitos e as relações familiares da sociedade brasileira.

Um dos maiores símbolos de sua obra foram as icônicas “Helenas”. De Baila Comigo (1981) a Em Família (2014), as personagens representavam mulheres e mães fortes, cujo amor pelos filhos se sobrepunha a qualquer obstáculo.

Além de novelista, Manoel Carlos também atuou como escritor e diretor. Ele deixa duas filhas: a atriz Júlia Almeida e a roteirista Maria Carolina.
